Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: April 10, 2026
These terms explain the subscription, safety rules, fair-use rules, third-party services, refunds, warranty limits, and liability limits that apply when using MINI WATT.
1. Agreement
These Terms & Conditions govern your access to and use of MINI WATT, including the macOS desktop app, companion web app, website, workouts, route simulation, ride history, leaderboards, Strava upload features, downloads, updates, and related services.
MINI WATT is operated by Nick Smet, Kalmthout, Belgium. By creating an account, downloading the app, starting a trial, subscribing, or using MINI WATT, you agree to these terms.
2. Age limit
MINI WATT is for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, start a trial, subscribe, or use the product.
3. What MINI WATT provides
MINI WATT is currently macOS software. Windows support is planned but not guaranteed until it is released. Features may vary by platform, app version, subscription status, hardware, operating system, region, and third-party service availability.
- Structured ERG workouts and workout scaling based on your FTP.
- Route riding, virtual gears, smart-trainer resistance control, and route physics simulation.
- Ride history, full ride telemetry, training metrics, FIT exports, and optional Strava uploads.
- Route and segment leaderboards, personal results, generated usernames, and admin-moderated rankings.
- A browser-based companion controller for shifting and route controls during rides.
4. Account and profile
- You need an account to use MINI WATT.
- Email address, user ID, generated username, and required profile metrics are used to run the service.
- Required profile metrics include data such as gender, age, weight, height, FTP, unit preference, and device type.
- You must provide accurate profile and fitness data. False profile data, manipulated sensor data, or misleading account use can affect workout safety, route physics, leaderboards, and fraud checks.
- You must keep your account information accurate and must not allow another person to use your account.
- Account deletion is handled through the contact form or by emailing info@miniwatt.app.
5. Subscription, trial, and billing
- MINI WATT offers a 14-day free trial.
- After the trial, the subscription price is $0.99 per month unless a different price is shown at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before renewal.
- Prices, currencies, taxes, and payment methods may vary by country and are shown at checkout.
- Billing, payment processing, taxes, invoices, cancellation flows, and payment support are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record.
- MINI WATT does not store full payment card details.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription through Lemon Squeezy. Cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically refund charges already processed.
MINI WATT may offer goodwill refunds, especially for broken core features, serious bugs, failed access, or a bad experience that cannot be reasonably resolved. Refunds are assessed case by case and may be processed through Lemon Squeezy.
Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer refund, withdrawal, warranty, or conformity rights that apply in your country.
7. Digital delivery and withdrawal rights
MINI WATT is digital software and a digital service. You receive access immediately when you start a trial, download the app, or subscribe.
If you are an EU, UK, or other consumer with a statutory withdrawal or cooling-off right, you may be asked at checkout or during access to request immediate digital performance and acknowledge that you may lose the withdrawal right once digital delivery or service performance begins, to the extent permitted by law.
Because MINI WATT offers a 14-day free trial, you should use the trial period to decide whether the product fits your setup before paid renewal starts.
8. Health and safety
MINI WATT is sports entertainment and training software. It is not a medical device, healthcare service, diagnostic tool, treatment tool, emergency system, or substitute for a doctor, physiotherapist, coach, or other qualified professional.
By using MINI WATT, you confirm that you are physically able to take part in indoor cycling exercise and that you are not aware of any medical reason why you should not use smart-trainer resistance control or high-intensity workouts.
Indoor cycling can involve serious physical exertion. Smart trainers can apply significant resistance. You are responsible for deciding whether you are healthy enough to train, choosing appropriate workouts, stopping when needed, and seeking medical advice before using MINI WATT if you have any medical condition, injury, pregnancy, symptoms, concerns, or history of heart, respiratory, metabolic, neurological, musculoskeletal, or other health issues.
Stop immediately if you feel chest pain, faintness, dizziness, unusual shortness of breath, severe fatigue, pain, numbness, loss of coordination, or any other concerning symptom. Seek medical help when appropriate.
9. Hardware and training environment
- You are responsible for your bike, trainer, sensors, power meter, heart-rate monitor, computer, phone, internet connection, Bluetooth setup, and training space.
- You must follow all hardware manufacturer instructions, safety warnings, maintenance requirements, and weight or use limits.
- You must make sure your bike is secured correctly, the area around you is clear, ventilation and hydration are adequate, and children, pets, and bystanders are kept away from moving parts.
- MINI WATT does not provide an emergency stop and cannot guarantee that a smart trainer will respond instantly or correctly to any command.
- MINI WATT is not responsible for injuries, property damage, device issues, inaccurate sensor readings, trainer behavior, Bluetooth failures, or mechanical failures caused by your hardware, setup, environment, physical condition, or unsafe use.
10. Trainer control and data accuracy
MINI WATT controls compatible smart trainers using standard protocols, but hardware support is not guaranteed for every trainer, sensor, firmware version, operating system, Bluetooth stack, or third-party update.
Power, cadence, heart rate, calories, speed, distance, training effect, gradient, segment time, and leaderboard data can be inaccurate because of sensor errors, device calibration, Bluetooth dropouts, firmware behavior, route data, software bugs, or user setup. Do not rely on MINI WATT data for medical, safety-critical, or professional decisions.
11. Strava and third-party services
Strava is optional. If you connect Strava, MINI WATT can upload activities to Strava using the authorization you provide. Strava is a separate third-party service and your Strava use is governed by Strava's own terms and policies.
Strava may change, suspend, limit, audit, or revoke API access. MINI WATT is not responsible if Strava changes authorization scopes, rate limits, uploads, logos, policies, pricing, data handling, or platform behavior.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, warranties are disclaimed and liability is excluded on behalf of third-party service providers, including Strava, for consequential, special, punitive, indirect, or similar damages connected with third-party services.
MINI WATT also depends on services including Supabase, Vercel, Google Analytics, PostHog, Tally, Lemon Squeezy, GitHub, and SendGrid. These services may change, fail, restrict access, or impose their own terms. MINI WATT is not responsible for third-party outages, policy changes, account actions, or data handling outside MINI WATT's control.
12. Routes, GPX files, and user content
You are responsible for making sure any GPX file, route, title, description, or other content you use with MINI WATT is lawful, does not infringe third-party rights, and does not expose sensitive locations or personal information.
If a route is accepted, processed, created, or published inside MINI WATT, MINI WATT may host, edit, moderate, rank, remove, and use that route and its processed MINI WATT route record as part of the service. The processed MINI WATT route record, metadata, segments, difficulty ratings, leaderboard setup, and route presentation inside MINI WATT are MINI WATT product materials. You keep any rights you lawfully own in your source material, but you grant MINI WATT a worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable license to host, process, modify, publish, display, distribute, and use it for MINI WATT.
MINI WATT may remove or change routes, route metadata, segments, results, or leaderboard entries at any time for quality, safety, legal, anti-fraud, moderation, or product reasons. Illegal, infringing, privacy-invasive, or unsafe content can be reported through the contact form or info@miniwatt.app.
13. Leaderboards and fair use
- Leaderboards are for fair indoor competition and entertainment.
- MINI WATT may edit, hide, delete, reset, or disqualify route times, segment times, routes, accounts, or results if fraud, cheating, manipulation, sensor abuse, suspicious data, technical errors, or unfair behavior is suspected.
- Generated usernames may be changed by MINI WATT for moderation, clarity, abuse prevention, legal, or product reasons.
- If your account is deleted, your leaderboard entries and related profile results will be deleted.
14. Prohibited conduct
- Do not use MINI WATT if you are under 18.
- Do not share, sell, rent, sublicense, or transfer your account or license.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, bypass access controls, scrape, overload, interfere with, or attack the service except where mandatory law expressly permits it.
- Do not manipulate sensors, telemetry, GPX data, route files, trainer signals, app data, or network traffic to cheat or falsify results.
- Do not upload, import, publish, or transmit unlawful, infringing, harmful, abusive, privacy-invasive, or misleading content.
- Do not use MINI WATT where doing so would violate sanctions, export controls, platform restrictions, or laws that apply to you.
- Do not use MINI WATT in a way that creates legal, security, safety, or infrastructure risk.
15. License and intellectual property
MINI WATT grants you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the app for your own indoor cycling training and entertainment while your account is active and, where required, your subscription is valid.
MINI WATT, the MINI WATT name, logos, software, code, workout library, route processing, design, graphics, documentation, and other product materials are owned by Nick Smet or licensed to MINI WATT. These terms do not transfer ownership of MINI WATT to you.
16. Updates, changes, and availability
MINI WATT may be updated, changed, suspended, or discontinued. Features may be added, modified, restricted, or removed when reasonably needed for product, legal, security, technical, business, or anti-fraud reasons.
MINI WATT is provided using internet, cloud, Bluetooth, operating system, hardware, and third-party systems outside MINI WATT's full control. Availability, compatibility, latency, data sync, and trainer behavior are not guaranteed.
17. Warranty disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MINI WATT is provided as is and as available. MINI WATT does not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free operation, perfect accuracy, compatibility with every device, achievement of training results, health outcomes, leaderboard availability, or continuous access to any third-party service.
Mandatory consumer guarantees, digital-content conformity rights, and other non-waivable legal rights remain unaffected.
18. Liability limits
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for intentional misconduct, fraud, or personal injury or death caused by MINI WATT's proven negligence or by a defective product where applicable law does not allow exclusion.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MINI WATT is not liable for injuries, health issues, overexertion, property damage, hardware damage, trainer behavior, inaccurate data, lost training data, lost profits, business interruption, indirect damages, consequential damages, or third-party service failures caused by your health, your training choices, your hardware, your setup, your environment, your misuse, third-party systems, or events outside MINI WATT's reasonable control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MINI WATT's total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for MINI WATT in the 12 months before the claim or EUR 50.
19. Responsibility for your conduct
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for claims, losses, costs, or disputes caused by your unlawful content, infringing GPX files, privacy-invasive route uploads, manipulated results, unsafe hardware setup, misuse of MINI WATT, breach of these terms, or violation of third-party rights.
This clause does not reduce any mandatory consumer rights you have and does not make you responsible for MINI WATT's own unlawful conduct.
20. Suspension and termination
MINI WATT may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms, create risk, misuse the service, attempt to cheat, fail payment, infringe rights, abuse support, or if continued access creates security, legal, platform, or product risk.
You may stop using MINI WATT at any time. Account deletion requests can be made through the contact form or by emailing info@miniwatt.app.
21. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.
If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring claims in your local courts or rely on mandatory local law. Where a court-choice clause is enforceable, disputes will be handled by the competent courts of Antwerp, Belgium.
Before starting formal proceedings, contact info@miniwatt.app so there is a chance to resolve the issue directly.
22. Changes to these terms
MINI WATT may update these terms from time to time. Updates become effective when posted on this page with a revised Last Updated date, unless a longer notice period is required by law. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
