Cookie Policy

This policy lists the cookies and browser storage used by the MINI WATT website, why they are used, how long they last, who can receive the data, and how you can change your choice.
1. Who is responsible
MINI WATT is operated by Nick Smet, Kalmthout, Belgium. Questions about this policy or your cookie choices can be sent to info@miniwatt.app or through the contact form.
This policy covers cookies and similar browser storage used by the MINI WATT website. It should be read with the Privacy Policy, which explains the wider processing of personal data.
2. How the choices work
Necessary storage supports authentication, security, the companion flow, requested embedded forms, and remembering your cookie choice. Limited functional storage also keeps the MINI WATT homepage message from repeating more than once every seven days across eligible tool, comparison, detail, and individual blog pages. These records provide requested website behavior or remember a browser preference and are not used for cross-site tracking.
Analytics and advertising measurement are optional. They remain off until you make an active choice. You can accept analytics without advertising measurement. Advertising measurement can only be enabled together with analytics because it adds campaign measurement to the analytics setup.
The Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity tags are not loaded unless analytics is accepted. The website passes analytics consent to Clarity through Microsoft's Consent API v2. Clarity advertising storage stays denied, including when the separate Google Ads measurement choice is accepted.
MINI WATT uses a basic Google Consent Mode setup. Google advertising storage, advertising user data, and campaign measurement remain denied unless advertising measurement is also accepted. Advertising-personalization signals remain disabled by MINI WATT even when advertising measurement is accepted.
Rejecting optional storage does not limit access to the website or MINI WATT. Your saved choice lasts 180 days. After that, the website asks again.
3. Necessary and limited functional storage
These items can be used without optional analytics consent. The popup-frequency record only appears after the message is displayed on an eligible tool, comparison, detail, or individual blog page. The Supabase entries only appear when the website starts or maintains an authentication flow. Tally is loaded only where an embedded form is shown.

- Purpose
- Stores when the MINI WATT homepage message was shown and when its seven-day frequency cap expires, so the same browser is not interrupted by that message more than once during the period.
- Duration
- Treated as expired 7 days after the message is shown and removed the next time an eligible tool, comparison, detail, or individual blog page checks it. Session or in-memory fallbacks last no longer than the related browser session.
- Recipient
- Stored in your browser. The record itself is not automatically sent to Google, Microsoft, or Supabase.

- A host-only first-party cookie on the MINI WATT host that sets it, with path /.
- Purpose
- Keeps the authenticated session available to the website and the /ride companion flow. The value contains the Supabase session data needed to authenticate and refresh the session.
- Duration
- Up to 400 days under the installed Supabase SSR library. Signing out removes the session cookie. The cookie lifetime does not override Supabase's server-side session validity.
- Recipient
- MINI WATT and Supabase, when authentication requests are made.

- Purpose
- Supports the PKCE security flow used by the Supabase passwordless email sign-in request.

- The installed Supabase SSR library allows up to 400 days, although Supabase can remove the value when the related authentication flow completes or is cleared.

- MINI WATT and Supabase during the related authentication flow.
Tally embedded-form storage (provider-managed essential session cookies, if set)

- Third-party storage in the tally.so context when an embedded MINI WATT form is opened. Tally does not publish stable cookie names in its current notice.
- Purpose
- Displays and operates a form requested by the visitor, preserves form navigation where needed, and submits the information the visitor chooses to enter.
- Duration
- Tally states that its essential cookie information is readable only for the duration of the visit. Browser-held form data can last according to the visitor's browser settings.
- Recipient
- Tally BV operates the form. MINI WATT receives the submitted form contents.
4. Analytics storage
These items are used only after analytics is accepted. Google Analytics measures page views, website downloads, successful website account creation, and interactions with the calculator and comparison tools. Microsoft Clarity provides session replays, heatmaps, and behavioral metrics.

5. Advertising measurement storage
This storage is allowed only after both analytics and advertising measurement are accepted. The exact Google Ads cookie suffix depends on the production Google account and tag configuration, so the policy identifies the documented cookie family rather than inventing a suffix that is not present in this repository.

- Measures whether a visitor who arrived through a Google ad later completed a consented website action. The exact suffix depends on the production Google tag and account configuration.

- Google documents a 90-day duration for _gcl_ and _gac_ cookie families.
- Recipient
- MINI WATT and Google Ireland Limited or the relevant Google service entity.
6. Information sent through analytics providers
When analytics is accepted, Google Analytics can receive the page URL, page title, page path, browser and device information, approximate location inferred by Google, and website interaction events. Tool events can include the selected test method, whether weight was supplied, filter counts, selected product identifiers, recommendation identifiers, result scores, and CTA placement. The contextual homepage-message experiment can send its experiment identifier, content and message identifiers, content variant, eligible page type, page path, CTA wording, and whether the message opened after the timer or scroll threshold. MINI WATT does not send an entered weight or calculated FTP value to Google Analytics. A download event also includes the button location, app version, platform, and installer file name.
When a new account is successfully verified through the website OTP form and analytics is accepted, MINI WATT can configure Google Analytics with the internal Supabase user UUID and send a sign_up event. MINI WATT does not send the account email address, name, profile metrics, ride telemetry, trainer identifiers, or payment-card details to Google Analytics.
When analytics is accepted, Microsoft Clarity can capture the structure and content of public pages needed to reconstruct a visit, together with navigation, clicks, pointer movements, scrolling, browser and device details, page URLs, referrers, and performance information. Clarity uses this information for session replays, heatmaps, and behavioral metrics that help MINI WATT find usability problems and improve the website.
The authenticated /ride companion is excluded from Clarity recording and its page content is marked for masking as an additional safeguard. MINI WATT does not call Clarity's Identify API or intentionally send Clarity an account ID, email address, name, profile metrics, ride telemetry, trainer identifiers, or payment-card details. Clarity masks input content, numbers, and email addresses by default before upload. MINI WATT does not enable Microsoft advertising storage or use Clarity data for Microsoft Ads.
When advertising measurement is accepted, Google can also process campaign parameters and Google click identifiers for campaign and conversion measurement. MINI WATT keeps ad-personalization consent denied and disables ad-personalization signals in its Google tag configuration.
7. Providers, recipients, and international transfers
Google provides Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement. Google may process measurement data through its international infrastructure. Google describes its entities, safeguards, retention controls, and transfer mechanisms in its privacy documentation.
Microsoft provides Clarity session replays, heatmaps, and behavioral analytics. Microsoft may process Clarity data through its international infrastructure under the Microsoft Privacy Statement and applicable service terms. Clarity playback data is generally retained for 30 days; Microsoft documents longer retention of up to 9 months for aggregated data and selected, labeled, or favorited sessions.
Supabase provides the authentication service used by the website and companion flow. Supabase may process authentication data through its service infrastructure. Its Data Processing Addendum describes the transfer safeguards it offers to customers.
Tally BV provides embedded forms. MINI WATT loads a fixed Tally embed URL without forwarding the current page URL, UTM parameters, or Google click identifiers. Tally states that its website and form service use essential cookies rather than advertising cookies.
MINI WATT does not load PostHog or Vercel Analytics from this website code. They are therefore not listed as website cookie providers in this policy.
8. Change or withdraw your choice
Use the Cookie settings button at the bottom of the website to change or withdraw optional consent. The new choice is sent to Google Consent Mode and, when Clarity has been loaded, Microsoft's Clarity Consent API immediately.
When analytics is rejected, MINI WATT ends Clarity collection, asks Clarity to erase its cookies, removes the accessible GA4, Google Ads, and Clarity first-party cookies on the MINI WATT domain, and clears MINI WATT's browser event markers. When advertising measurement is rejected but analytics remains accepted, MINI WATT removes the accessible first-party Google Ads measurement cookies while leaving GA4 and Clarity analytics cookies in place.
MINI WATT cannot directly delete cookies stored on a third-party Google or Microsoft domain. You can remove those through your browser controls or the provider's privacy controls. Clarity's Microsoft advertising storage remains denied in this implementation.
Necessary Supabase authentication cookies are not removed when optional analytics is rejected. Use Sign out in the /ride companion flow to remove the local authentication session. You can also delete site data through your browser settings.
9. Legal bases and your rights
For EEA and UK visitors, optional analytics and advertising measurement rely on consent. Necessary authentication storage supports the service requested by the user. The consent-preference record is necessary to remember and demonstrate the visitor's choice.
You can withdraw optional consent at any time without losing access to the website. The Privacy Policy explains your data-protection rights, including access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority where applicable.
10. Changes to this policy
MINI WATT will update this policy when the website starts using a new cookie or browser-storage purpose, changes a provider, or changes a material duration. The date and version at the top identify the current policy.
